January 22nd
The worst
thing happened to my low back while I was at work today. I was moving
some boxes up onto a high shelf and "ouch", all of a sudden I had
severe back pain!
Just like that, and my back was
hurting bad...

My friend at work
said I probably had a lower
back strain, and I should go to her regular medical doctor
to get my back injury
checked out.
She said low
back pain could turn into something serious, and that she

He said a back injury frequently

to provide some pain-relief for the next several days.
January 23rd
I
woke up feeling horrible
back pain!
I definitely had a bad lower
back strain injury,
or maybe it could be a disc
injury causing
me all this pain?
I
decided to take the medication the general practicioner doctor gave me for my back-pain, but as soon
as the pills wore off I still felt awful back pain.
Hopefully I'll have some pain-relief in a
couple of days because I really hate
taking these prescription
pain pills. They make me feel out of it and sick to my
stomach...
But I don't know what else to
do.
January 28th
I
thought the back pain and soreness would wear off,
and then I'd be okay.
My work manager in New Braunfels called me to find out how bad my low
back injury was, so I told him that my back pain was still
severe.
I could feel that my
manager was anxious for me to return to work, but
I still feel injured so I told her I'd have to wait another day or two.
He sounded irritated at me...
January 31st
I told my young daughter I couldn't take her to play with her little
friends today because I was too sore and my back was hurting real bad
today.
She
got upset and started crying... I felt so bad....
Why don't I feel
better?
I'm going to another New
Braunfels doctor tomorrow... another friend of mine says
he will give me some stronger
pain-relief
drugs for my low back pain. I'm not sure about what to
do...
February 1st
I went to Dr. Robert in New Braunfels... he told me the exact same
thing my first doctor did.
He prescribed stronger pain-pills for lower back pain relief
in order to get me through the day and told me I should try physical
therapy in a couple weeks if I still don't feel better.
I looked at the
warning label on these pain
relief pills.
Side effects include
kidney damage, liver damage, gastrointestinal bleeding… all these
things sound worse than my back pain!
Should
I really be taking these pain pills???
February 14th
It's
been almost a month since my back injury and I'm only feeling worse
pain in my muscles and spine. The pain is also going into my hips now...
I decided to try physical
therapy for back pain
treatment. Hopefully this is the answer I've been looking
for.
My manager at work called
again, too. He's telling me that I need to get back to work.
March 10th
I've done physical
therapy in New Braunfels for 3 weeks now and I don’t think
it's done anything for me, even the therapist seems to be confused as
to why I'm not getting much pain relief from my back
pain injury.
I'm going back to Dr. Robert in
a couple of days to see if he has any other ideas. There has to be a
better way!
March 12th
I just left Dr.
Robert's office in tears... He told me I should
consider low
back surgery to help with the lower back pain!
I'm supposed to meet with an
orthopedic surgeon in New Braunfels in 5 days to talk it over.
I don't want
back surgery!
I don't know what's wrong. My
original back injury wasn't severe enough for back surgery, or
so I thought.
Hundreds
of people hurt their back like mine every day... do they go through
this same thing, too?
March 14th
The
weirdest thing happened today. I was looking through the paper when I
saw a headline that said...
